This is a new position for the company: Update, oversee, and maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures for a multi-location grain, feed, agronomy, and propane business about an hour north of Omaha. Ensure accuracy of inventory data and financial information. Prepare monthly financial statements, inventory balances, and other information for CFO. Monitor cash and debt levels. Prepare and monitor items such as chemical and seed rebate programs. Ensure all available discounts are obtained. You will not be directly managing anyone. Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is required. At least 5 years of Accounting experience, to include at least 2 in a commodity environment. You must have commodity accounting experience. Preference is for experience from a grain elevator or trading company, but will consider experience from scrap metal, food processing, meat processing, etc. $75,000 to $95,000. Full Benefits

The Vice President, Controller has overall responsibility for the leadership and management of the corporate accounting functions, including finance, compliance, and treasury management. The primary responsibilities will include the establishment of the company’s accounting policies and procedures, overseeing the monthly financial reporting cycle, and managing the annual financial audit and treasury. As VP, Controller, you will maintain a clear view of the big picture, be laser focused on establishing scalable, efficient processes that can be measured, improved, and automated as the company expands, while also completing the weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual close process in a timely manner. We expect you to thrive in a fast-paced, self-managed environment. Advanced knowledge of accounting and best practices. Prior financial experience leading all aspects of accounting including controllership functions, financial reporting, and analysis. Prefer someone with a background in Agricultural experience.
